Call for Volunteers & Judges

The Game Changer Awards (GCA) creates an opportunity for students of all ages across Western Australia to aspire to start a career in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics fields to solve tomorrow’s problems for the future.

Our program recognises excellence, ingenuity, innovation, and entrepreneurship in tomorrow’s emerging leaders.

The GCA State Finals and Awards Ceremony will be held Monday, 3 November 2024 at the Edith Cowan University Sport and Fitness Centre in Joondalup from 9am to 3pm. The ‘science fair’ format provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of the problem, their critical thinking process and the solution they have developed.

Student teams will be given the opportunity to "pitch" their project ideas to a panel of judges who will review the innovative merit of all student projects. Prizes will be awarded to students in each year group category for:

Best Overall Project

Best Use of STEM

Best Presentation.

In order to ensure the success of the Awards, GCA relies heavily on the continued support from STEM professionals and enthusiasts to volunteer their time in the capacity of either a general volunteer or judge on the day. Judges need to have professional experience in the Science, Technology, Business & Entrepreneurship, or Education industries.
